Bye Tumblr.

It’s been fun but I have to say, I’m moving back to Blogger.  I know, I really need to make up my mind but for now, I think that’s where I want to be.

What a great weekend

Friday: Friend’s going away dinner

Saturday: 17 mile run (and felt great!), long nap, dinner at the condo at Donner Lake, went out in old Truckee (there are some characters there!)

Sunday: brunch at Jax at the Tracks (really good food, insanely big menu - it was so hard to pick what I wanted to eat I literally tossed a coin), drove to the top of the old Donner Summit, napped, family dinner and to bed early.

Fun Friday at work - making flyers, choosing client survey questions - all with the help of my very large cup of coffee!

I’ve officially determined that fall is my favorite time of year.  Yes I love summer, don’t get me wrong but I’m a sucker for the crisp weather, the football games, the colors of the leaves and of course the clothes.  Which, speaking of, I’ve done some damage the last couple of days 36 hours - to update my wardrobe for fall.
I’ll update you all on that later…!

So excited!  Just bought this crazy orange blazer for fall (it’s by Zara but I found it for $40 on eBay!).  I orginally saw it here on Stylish White Female and have not been able to get it off my mind.  I think it’s going to make the perfect edition to my wardrobe - now my head is spinning with all the things I can wear with it!

Fail.

Woke up early this morning to do my 15 mile run, ate a super hearty breakfast and then sat back in bed to let it settle a bit before I headed out the door….

2.5 hours later I woke up and realized I had slept straight through my optimal time to run today. Looks like that run is going to have to wait til tomorrow unless my plans tonight change. Good job me.

Wedding fun!
I helped decorate for the bf’s sister’s wedding a couple of weekends ago and let me tell you, the Martha Stewart in me really came out full force.
1 - assorted flowers in mason jars (used around the tables and as center pieces)
2 - deer antlers with little birdies glued to them (also part of the center pieces)
3 - pies! sign with the table in the background (love that she had pies instead of cake, totally unique!)
4 - detail of the pie table with a teapot
5 - detail of the other side of the pie table
6 - the pie table in all its colorful glory
She said she wanted the pie table to be the most eye catching part of the decor and I think we pulled it off. It was definitely my pride and joy! Side note: 1 + 2 = centerpieces - I’m sad I didn’t get a picture of the centerpieces but basically the mason jar was in the center of three antlers on each table.
This wedding was in such a great setting, at the River School Farm right along the Truckee River. And the decor was so uniquely simple I loved it (my favorite part was spending the morning arranging buckets and buckets of flowers into the mason jars). They also managed to have a lot of the family pitch in for the dinner: Benna lamb, Benna lamb harvested by one of the bride’s brothers, bride’s sister’s home made pesto for the pasta, mom’s homemade lemoncello to toast with, bridesmaid’s homemade pie with mom’s cherries, etc. I could go on. It was really awesome how the bride and groom tied everything together and really let their personalities shine through.

Sleepy Friday

Stayed up way too late last night getting lost in the blogosphere.  I book marked some amazing blogs though.  A couple I already knew about - This Time Tomorrow and Cupcakes and Cashmere, but some new blogs I discovered, 9to5 Chic and See Jane.  I don’t usually get a lot of time to just sit for hours looking at blogs but last night I took some “me” time and before I knew it I hooked on looking up Krystal at This Time Tomorrow’s fellow blogging friends.

On a side note, I am absolutely in love with Essie’s fall collection.  It might be my splurge for this paycheck (because yes, I have to have all the colors in full size!).  Also, did I mention I love the name of the collection - Brand New Bag Collection.
